About this course
This course examines how the institutional architecture of diversity and engagement is evolving as organizations move beyond reliance on a single DEI-branded framework. Participants explore legacy models such as affirmative action, multiculturalism, diversity and inclusion, and DEI alongside emerging approaches including Inclusive Excellence, access and opportunity, pluralism, people and culture, community engagement, well-being, health equity, and civil rights and compliance. The course helps leaders understand that multiple models can operate simultaneously and that effective strategy requires alignment among mission, language, programs, organizational structure, people, accountability, and risk tolerance. Participants learn to move beyond superficial renaming toward intentional institutional design that preserves capability, strengthens relevance, and positions the work for sustained impact.
